At IT Patagonia, we are looking to add a Data Architect to our team to lead the design and development of high-impact data solutions for the financial sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the ideal architecture for emerging business cases, combining strategic vision with practical implementation skills.

This role is fundamental to guiding technology decisions, interacting with other architecture teams, and ensuring that solutions are not only robust and scalable, but also cost-efficient (FinOps) and aligned with the highest industry standards.

What will your challenges be?

  • Design high-level data architectures, with an end-to-end solution vision.
  • Evaluate and select the most appropriate technologies for each business case in the banking sector.
  • Design and build data artifacts, including Stored Procedures (Redshift/Teradata), workflows in AWS Glue, and orchestration with Step Functions.
  • Develop data transformation and processing solutions using Python and PySpark.
  • Lead surveys and technical proposals, interacting with specialists from various technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, security policies, and best practices in data governance.
  • Design and implement cost-effective cloud solutions, applying FinOps principles.
  • Conduct technical meetings independently and propose innovative solutions.

What do we expect from you?

  • Proven experience in similar positions, such as Senior Data Architect/Engineer.
  • Exclusive mastery of SQL and Python.
  • Deep understanding of data architectures, both on-premise and in the cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Communication skills to interact effectively with technical and functional teams.
  • Education: Be an advanced student or graduate of careers such as Engineering/Bachelor's in Systems, Computer Science or related fields.

Desirable

  • Certifications in AWS or other cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies.
  • Experience with ETL ingestion processes and data visualization tools.
